June 3, 1920 ~ Jan. 2, 2013 Elda Marie Thorson Trane (92) Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend passed away peacefully in her home on January 2, 2013. She was born June 3, 1920 in Troy, South Dakota to Thomas and Emma Olsen Thorson. She attended St. Luke's Nursing School in Spokane, Washington and was a Registered Nurse for 34 years. While in Spokane, she met the love of her life, Ralph. They were married October 27, 1944, later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. They shared their lives together for 68 years. She has been a faithful member of the LDS Church serving in many callings. She especially loved visiting teaching and served until she was 92. Elda dedicated her life to serving others and taught her children to do the same. Her most memorable moments were spent with family and supporting them in all of their activities. She is survived by her husband Ralph, children; David (Sue), Becky, Rachel (Earl), Shauna, Susan (Mitch), Jon (Cathy), 21 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and sister Sally. Preceded in death by son Tom, son-in-law Duncan and great-grandson Jaycob. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Parkinson's Foundation of Utah in memory of Elda Trane. Funeral services will be held Monday, January 7, 2013 at 12:00 noon in the Brickyard LDS Chapel, 1111 East Charlton Ave. (2800 S.), Salt Lake City, Utah. Family and friends may call Sunday evening from 6-8:00 p.m. at the church and from 11:00 - 11:45 a.m. on Monday morning prior to the service. Interment, Lehi City Cemetery.
