Garnet Opal (Stallman) Kendrick June 19, 1913 - Aug 15, 2011 Garnet Opal Kendrick was born June 19, 1913 in Columbus, Kansas. She passed away Aug. 15, 2011 at the age of 98 years. She has resided in Corsicana for about 30 years, and for the last 10 years, resided at Heritage Oaks Retirement Village where she spent her final days. She and her husband lived in Oklahoma as well as Eunice and Hobbs, New Mexico for many years. More recently before moving to Corsicana they had lived in Baytown, Texas and Tow, Texas. She was preceded in death by her husband, Noel Walter Kendrick and son Orville Walter Kendrick. She is survived by three daughters; Noelene Birkelo, Nancy Joy LeMay, Glenda Basil; and one son, Bruce Guy Kendrick; two brothers, Guy Rue Stallman and Alvis Stallman; two sisters, Edythe Bengtson and Imogene Hazelrigg. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren: Glynis Hugghins, Julie Payne, Joni Miller, Diana Bomback, Darlene Kiggins, Robert Noel LeMay, Gayla Ross, Sheryl Jordan, Keith Franklin, Bruce Jeffrey Kendrick and 15 great-grandchildren. She was a member of Northside Baptist Church in Corsicana for 30 years. Mrs. Kendrick was a beautiful Christian woman, wonderful, loving mother, and grandmother. She was a talented seamstress and great cook. Garnet will be interred in Resthaven Memorial Park, Corsicana, Texas beside Noel, her husband of 72 years as they are reunited in Heaven. Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home is handling the arrangements. Funeral service is 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 17, 2011 at the First Baptist Church Chapel with Revs. Danny Reeves and B.F. Risinger Jr. presiding. Special thanks to the staff of Heritage Oaks — Sabrina, Shamaki, Denise, Annie, Joni and all those who have been so attentive and cared for her so lovingly.
