Birth year on grave marker is incorrect. Mrs. Cook was born in Jan 1909 per her birth certificate. Her mother, Pearl (nee Paris) McGraw, died less than a month later on 11 Feb 1909. Ethel is listed as age 1 on the 1910 census living with her father's sister, Margaret (McGraw) Boyer. ~~ Ethel's paternal aunt Maggie (nee McGraw) & uncle Alvin Boyer were her guardians after her mother's death. She is listed with them for the 1910 & 1920 Census records. ~~ Area Woman's Funeral Pending Andrews – Mrs. Ethel Margaret Cook, 50, a resident of Andrews for the past seven years, died at 5:45 p.m. Monday in the Permian general Hospital here. She had suffered a short illness. Funeral arrangements are pending at Singleton Funeral home. A native of Knox city, Tex., Mrs. Cook was reared in the Culleoka community, southeast of McKinney. She was a member of the Antlock Baptist Church in Aubrey, where she formerly resided. Survivors include the husband, Henry H.; found sons, Henry H. Cook Jr., and Ray B. Cook, both of the home; Sammy Mack Cook of Andrews; and James Floyd Turnbow, Santa Fe; her father and step-mother, Mr. and Mrs. J.P. McGraw, of McKinney; and three grandchildren. (Lubbock AJ)
