Karl Friedrich, 66, of Camas, Wash., was born to the late Oleta and Carl Friedrich on July 16, 1946, and raised in Tyler. He was a feature and news writer for the Tyler Morning Telegraph from 1966 to 1968. He continued his journalism career in California and in 2007 moved to Camas, Wash., with his wife and fulfilled his lifelong goal of becoming a published novelist in 2011. Karl passed away on Dec. 18, 2012. Published in Tyler Morning Telegraph on December 30, 2012
