MRS. FREDRICK M. SMITH Mrs. Fredrick M. Smith, 49, the former Helen Louise Todd, Merrill, died at Edmond, Okla., Sunday, Sept. 10, 1972, after an illness of several months. She was hospitalized at Oklahoma City where she had lived for the last eight years. Mrs. Smith was graduated from Merrill schools and the University of Northern Iowa. She taught in Fort Dodge and then in the Sioux City school systems for several years. She was the daughter of the late Frank Todd and Nellie Farnam Todd of Merrill. Her marriage to Fredrick Smith took place March 28, 1948, at Merrill. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at United Methodist Church in Merrill. Rev. J. Vallery will officiate. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery under the direction of the Luedtke funeral home. A prayer service will be held Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Luedtke funeral home in LeMars. Survivors are her husband; two daughters, Mary Margaret at the University of Colorado and Elizabeth Ann at home; her mother, Mrs. Nellie Todd of Merrill and a brother, Dr. Frank A. Todd, of Arlington, Va. She was preceded in death by her father, Frank Todd, and two brothers. ~Source: LeMars Daily Sentinel, September 12, 1972
