Services are 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Bruno with the Rev. James Cooper officiating. Burial will be at Holy Trinity Cemetery in Brainard with military graveside service by David City American Legion Post 125. Visitation will be until a 7:30 p.m. rosary today at Knott Funeral Home in David City. Mr. Polivka was born Oct. 18, 1916, at Brainard to John and Frances (Kubicek) Polivka. He attended Butler County public schools. He served in the Army in World War II. He was a member of the church. Survivors include one brother, Lod Polivka of McDonald, Kan. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Lillian Riha and Emma Divis; and eight brothers, John Polivka, Charlie Polivka, George Polivka, Alfred Polivka, Louis Polivka, Rudy Polivka, Edward Polivka and Jim Polivka. *Note Adolph was the son of Frantiska (Frances) Kubicek. He was a grandson of Karel and Frantiska (Chytka) Kubicek.
