Bio

Martin L. Lenderman Services for Martin L. Lenderman, 84, of Whitehouse, are scheduled for 10 a.m. Monday at Burks Walker Tippit Funeral Home with the Rev. Bennie Portwood officiating. Burial will follow at Walnut Grove Cemetery. Mr. Lenderman passed away on Oct. 9, 2010, in Whitehouse and was born April 23, 1926, in McKinney to the late Martin and Della Kindle Lenderman. He was a member of Mount Carmel Baptist Church and served his country during World War II in the Army Air Corps. Martin retired as an IRS Agent after 30 years and has lived in Whitehouse for the past 28 years. He was preceded in death by his brother and four sisters. Mr. Lenderman is survived by his wife of 60 years; two sons and daughters-in-law; two daughters; a sister; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. Pallbearers will be grandsons. Honorary pallbearers will be the Steadfast Sunday School Class from Mount Carmel Baptist Church. The family will receive friends at Burks Walker Tippit from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of East Texas, 4111 University Blvd., Tyler, 75701; or the charity of one's choice.
