SHAMROCK - Cooter Barnett, 86, formerly of Shamrock, died Tuesday, Nov. 25, 1997. Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Joe G. Jernigan, pastor of Calvary Christian Fellowship Church, officiating. Burial will be in Shamrock Cemetery by Wright Funeral Directors. Mrs. Barnett was born in Iredell and moved to Shamrock at a young age. She became a registered nurse in 1933 after graduating from Lubbock Sanatorium and Clinic. She did post-graduate studies at Cook County, Ill., and the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota. She retired in 1983 after 50 years as a nurse-anesthetist. She had lived in Freeport with her sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. H.E. Teinert, since 1989. Survivors include a daughter, Bonnie Ditto of Irving; a sister, Jeanne Teinert of Freeport; three granddaughters; and two step-granddaughters.
