Karl Myers, 79 of Beaver Utah passed away Friday December 7, 2012 in Phoenix, AZ. He was born August 13, 1933 in Beaver Utah to George and Zona Gillies Myers. He married the love of his life Stannie Marshall Myers June 7, 1951 in Ely Nevada. Together they had 4 children Steven(Kay Lonnie) Myers of Cedar City, Linda (Garth) Bohn of Cedar City, Michael (Lacy) Myers of St George and Greg (Melonie) Myers of Beaver. He graduated from Beaver High School in 1951. Karl Joined the National Guard while still in high school and was Honorably discharged in 1954. Karl was a hard working man who loved his family more than anything and if there was a horse race around you would be sure to find him there. Karl spent most of his years as an independent business owner and a very successful horse trainer. He made many friends in both professions who admired and respected him greatly. He was a partner of the Grand Canyon scenic mule rides, with his back ground and love for animals this was a job that you couldn't call work. He owned and operated Color Country Chevron in Cedar City for over 40 years. He loved the ranch on Cedar Mountain, hunting with his sons, watching the cattle graze and spending time with his family and grandkids. He enjoyed watching sports especially when his grandchildren were playing. He will be missed by everyone who knew him. Survived by his wife of 61 years, his 4 children and their spouses, 15 grand children and 15 great grand children. His brother Burton and LeeOla Myers of Beaver. His twin sister Carol and Kenny Blackner, Della and Ross Van Orden and Kay and Jerry Talbot all of St George. He was preceded by his parents and his best red headed buddy Red Williams. Funeral services will be held Saturday Dec. 15, 2012 at 1:00 pm in the Beaver LDS 4th ward chapel located at 220 North main in Beaver, UT. A viewing will be held Friday Dec. 14, 2012 from 6 to 8 pm at Southern Utah Mortuary in Beaver and again on Saturday morning at the Church starting at 11:30 am. Interment will be in the Mountain View Cemetery in Beaver, UT all under the direction of Southern Utah Mortuary. Online condolences can be sent to sumortuary.com.
