Bio
Born in the village of Popovice, town of Ivancice, county of Brno, Austrian Empire (now in the Czech Republic). Emigrated to the United States in 1890. The passenger list for the ship Columbia , which left Hamburg, Germany on July 3, 1890 and arrived in New York City on July 11, 1890 includes the following family (all from Popovice, Bohemia): Franz Nabity, age 35 years, farmer; his wife Maria, 29; daughter Anna, 5; son Jan, 3; father Josef, 68, farmer; and mother Maria, 68. According to the 1900 census he was born June 1823 in Bohemia, emigrated to the United States in 1890, and lived in Richardson township, Butler County, Nebr. with his wife Mary and his son and daughter-in-law John and Fannie Nabity and their children.
