Bio

Excerpted from a 1929 article on the celebration of a fiftieth marriage anniversary: Claus Rohweder was born on November 1, 1849 (sic), in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany and came to this country in 1868. He worked for a few years at Rock Island, Ill. and came to Grand Island in the early seventies. He married on April 18, 1979 in Grand Island. He retired from farm life in 1920. In 1929, there were eleven children living from this union.
