Grand Island (Nebraska) Herald; Thursday, 15 March 1934, page 1 Very many friends and relatives gathered to pay final tribute when last rites for Mrs. Claus Rohweder were held at two thirty o'clock Wednesday afternoon at the family residence, 321 East First street. Rev. O. Hausmann of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran church conducted the services and burial was in the family plot in the Grand Island cemetery. . . Anna Mildenstein was born October 28, 1859, at Fehmarn, Schleswig-Holstein, Germany, and died March 10, 1934 at the age of 74 years, 4 months and 12 days. When six years of age she came with her parents to Davenport, Ia., and two years later, to a homestead in Hall county. She was united in marriage to Claus Rohweder, April 8, 1879, a union to which twelve children were born. Immediately after their marriage, they engaged in farming south of this city, later Mr. Rohweder purchasing a farm southeast of Grand Island. In 1920 they moved to the city to live in retirement. Surviving, besides her aged husband, are the children, Mrs. Adolph Seier, Doniphan; Mrs. William Boettcher, Columbus; Mrs. Walter Ott, Mrs. Fred Shirkofsky, Mrs. Ernest Thesenvitz, all of this city; Albert Rohweder, Pine Bluff, Wyo.; Mrs. Arthur Henne, Mrs. Paul Lockenvitz, August Rohweder, all of this city; Mrs. Alfred Goserman of Columbus and Mrs. John Paustian, Grand Island. . . two brothers, George and Henry Mildenstein, Grand ISland; six sisters, Mrs. Theo Schaumann, Mrs. Henry Rohweder, Miss Alvina Mildenstein, Mrs. Nels Stahl, Mrs. Jake Schriner. A daughter, Alma, preceded her in death Sept. 16, 1919.
