Parents: James Monroe and Georgia (Duggan) Hamm Spouse: Hubert Joe Arwood EVELYN ELIZABETH ARWOOD 2 Dec 1925 - 21 Mar 2007 NORTON, Va. - Evelyn Elizabeth Arwood, 81, formerly of Norton, died Wednesday (March 21, 2007) at Wellmont Bristol Regional Hospital. Born in Oklahoma to James Monroe and Georgia (Duggan) Hamm, she lived her youth in Texas and was a retired nurse at Lonesome Pine Hospital. She was the widow of Hubert Joe Arwood and was also preceded in death by a sister, Jean Gregory; and a great-granddaughter, Cloy Kyle. She is survived by her children (and spouses), Fred (Gail) Arwood, Big Stone Gap, Va., Janice (Danny) Blevins, Kingsport, Kenneth Arwood, Church Hill, Herbert Arwood, Duffield, Va., and James Gary (Arlene) Arwood; four stepsons; her sister, Joy Shortt, McKinney Tex.; her grandchildren, Kelly Willis, Jennifer Shepard, Trevor Arwood, Samantha Pennington and Heath Arwood; and seven great-grandchildren; a special friend Russell Willis; The family will receive friends at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Hagy & Fawbush Funeral Home in Norton. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in the funeral home chapel with burial to follow in the Powell Valley Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are through Hagy & Fawbush Funeral Home, Norton, Va.
