FAIRMONT - A Mass of Christian Burial for Betty M. Hines, 81, of Fairmont, Minn., will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 24, at St. John Vianney Catholic Church in Fairmont with burial following in Calvary Cemetery. Betty passed away Wednesday morning, Nov. 21, 2012, at the Mayo Clinic Health System Fairmont. Betty Marcella (Holz) Hines was born on January 31, 1931, in Chambers, Neb., the daughter of Charles and Lena (Emgarten) Holz. When Betty was 10 her family moved to Minnesota and she attended District 31, District 81 and District 7 country schools and then attended Fairmont High School. On October 18, 1950, Betty was united in marriage to Norbert Hines at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Fairmont. She worked at Interlaken Golf Club, Swift and Co. and Armour Foods. She also volunteered at the Salvation Army. She was active in the Lee C. Prentice American Legion Post 36 Auxiliary and the Martin County V.F.W. Post 1222 Auxiliary. Those that will cherish her memory include her husband of 62 years, Norbert Hines of Fairmont; three children, Pamela Craven and her husband, Paul, of Elk River, Minn., Randall Hines and his wife, Rhonda, of Fairmont, Minn., Lisa Hines of Austin, Minn.; 13 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; sister, Elnora Bicknase and her husband, Marvin, of Fairmont, Minn.; many nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, Betty was also preceded in death by two daughters, Nannette Flores and Kimberly Hines; son, Gregory Hines; five brothers and two sisters and their spouses; and one great-granddaughter, Samantha Joy Craven.
