Grand Island (Nebraska) Independent Saturday, 13 May 1972 Funeral services will be held Monday at 10 a.m. in St. Mary's Cathedral in Grand Island for Mrs. Lois Harriet Petska, 60, of 212 E. Fourth. The burial will be in the Grand island Cemetery (Further funeral arrangements omitted here) Mrs. Petska is survived by her husband, Lou; one son, Lou Petska Jr. of Grand Island; one daughter, Mrs. Betty Lindley of Omaha; a step-son, James Petska of Oceanside, Calif.; her mother, Mrs. Josephine Roepke of Cambridge; two brothers, Lyle Roepke of Mesa, Ariz., and Neal Roepke of Denver, Colo.; and four sisters, Mrs. Morris Ems of Arapahoe, Mrs. Vernon Laverack of Cambridge, Mrs. Jack Meyerhoeffer of Hastings and Mrs. Raymond Penn of Mesa, Ariz.; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Grand Island (Nebraska) Independent Tuesday, 16 May 1972 Funeral services for Mrs. Lois H. Petska were held Monday morning at St. Mary's Cathedral with the Rev. Miquel Guevara as celebrant of the Mass. Pallbearers were Bob Plummer, James McCormick, Jerry Seymour, Ed Klavon, Roger Van Bibber and Fred Plummer. Burial was in the Grand Island cemetery. Apfel-Butler-Geddes Funeral Home was in charge. Mrs. Petska was born April 4, 1912, at Edison, the daughter of Lou and Josephine Dawson Roepke. She and Lou Petska were married July 7, 1944 at Hays Center, Kan. They had since resided in Grand Island. Mrs. Petska had been employed at the Grand Island Air Base until 1947 when she and her husband purchased the Petska Grocery. For the past five years she had been employed by the Delicious Foods firm.
