Kenneth John Mizner was born to William John Mizner and Jessie Louise Bellinger Mizner on May 5, 1921, at David City, and passed away November 7, 2011, at the Fillmore County Hospital in Geneva at the age of 90 years, six months, and two days. He was one of ten children in the family. Kenneth received his eighth grade education before joining the Army on November 24, 1942. Upon his return from the Army in 1946, he went to work for a construction company, and he also was a mechanic and truck driver. Kenneth was married to Bonnie Belle Crooker of Ainsworth on March 30, 1950, and to them seven children were born. They were married for 61 1/2 years, and lived all their married life in Fairmont. Kenneth enjoyed fishing, travelling, collecting pens and spending time with his famiy and friends. Kenneth is preceded in death by his parents, John and Jessie; brothers and sisters, and one son. He is survived by his wife Bonnie; children, Darlene (Gary) Warren; Penny (Steve) Galliart; Darvin (Kathy); Larry (Sue); Jerry(Naomi); Kay (Laine) Young; 18 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandson; and a special mail lady and friend Amy Tol. Funeral services were conducted from the Famer and Son Funeral Home on November 10 with Pastor Jeff Jensen officiating. Special music played during the service included "The Old Rugged Cross", "In Color," and "If We Make It Through December." Casketbearers were Darvin, Larry and Jerry Mizner, Jesse Young, Kenny Nelson and Tony Mizner. Honorary casket bearers were Kurtis, and Andy Mizner; Laine Young, Garry Warren, Steve Gallart, Travis Galliart, Steve Mizner and Jeff Mizner. Military graveside services were conducted at the Grafton Public Cemetery with the Fairmont Legion L. T. Forbes Post No. 21. The Nebraska Signal 16 November 2011 page 8B col. 3
