Ole Larsen was married to Ingeborg Maria Bentsen/Rolfsen on February 2, 1843 in Norway. They had five sons and five daughters. Ole and Ingeborg were members of the Church of the Latter Day Saints. The Larsen family moved to the United States in 1865 arriving in New York and then heading to Chicago. In 1866 Memphis was in the midst of a yellow fever epidemic. There were not enough experienced carpenters in Memphis to supply the necessary number of coffins. Being a carpenter, Ole brought his family to Memphis and began work in the coffin making business. Newspaper mortuary reports that "Ollo Larson" died of chronic diarrhea.
