Son of Edwin & Minnie (Burch) Campbell. He grew up and attended school in Clarks, Nebraska. On December 29, 1941, Bill joined the U.S. Navy. He volunteered for submarine service and served in the South Pacific. He was honorably discharged on November 8, 1945 and attained the rank of TM3C. He moved to Columbus in 1949 and started working as a plumber. On January 22, 1951, Bill married Ester Smith Otterpohl in Yankton, South Dakota. In 1956, he became a Master Plumber and started Campbell Plumbing & Heating. In 1986, after 30 years of service, Bill retired. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, playing cards, and drinking coffee with his friends. He was a member of the American Legion and the VFW. Bill is survived by: Wife ~ Ester Campbell of Columbus, NE Step-son ~ Richard Otterpohl of Columbus, NE Many nieces and nephews Bill was preceded in death by: Parents ~ Edwin & Minnie Campbell 5 sisters ~ Edith, Neola, Margaret, Mable, and Edra
