Martin P. Gregory moved to Texas from Tennessee as a teenager with two brothers, Cohen and Lewis and noted living in Navarro County, Texas on Census records of 1910. (All records from Bells , Tennessee were lost in a fire) Parents according to death certificate were Edward Gregory and Maud Lewis of Tennessee. Lost contact with brothers but records indicated that he had been tending to a sick brother in 1917. He married Mary Belle Crum November 16, 1919. He farmed until 1934 and then worked as a city maintenance worker before becoming ill in December 1943. He subsequently died July 27, 1944. Surviving were his wife, Mary Bell Crum Gregory; two sons, Lewis E. Gregory (MaryLucille Edgeworth Gregory) of Houston and J. L. Gregory (Joyce Marie Martin Gregory) of the US Navy, stationed at Corpus Christi; three daughters; Missess Barbara Ann, Wanda Sue and Dorothy Gregory, all of Palestine. Pallbearers: Thomas Crum, Isaac Crum, Raymond Crum, Chester Crum, Johnnie Crum and Buford Andrews. (Lived at 1110 W. Lacy Street, Palestine, Texas at the time of his death)
