Bio

Wife was Elizabeth Alexander Hardy. John Lewis was cousin of member of Lewis/Clark expedition and one of first founders of Missouri. He and his wife established the community of Crescent in West St. Louis County, Missouri in 1796. The community is still there today, now surrounded by the city of Eureka and the Tyson Research Center.
