Bio

Funeral services for Mrs. Joshua Kelso, were held Thursday afternoon in the Methodist church with Rev. M.O. McKenzie in charge. Iva Mae Parker, second daughter of Mr. and Mrs J.G. Parker, was born Sept. 30, 1912 at Napoleon, Michigan and passed away at the Mary Lanning Memorial hospital in Hastings early Tuesday morning, November 3, 1931 at the age of 19 years, 1 month, and 3 days. When a child of four years she moved with her family to Colorado, where they resided until 1918 when they moved to Nebraska coming to this vicinity in 1931 where she resided up to this time. She attended the Pauline school graduating with highest honors in the class of '31. She was united in marriage to Joshua Kelso whom she leaves to mourn her sudden departure besides her infant daughter, Louise Maxine, born November 2, her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J.G. Parker, a sister, Mary, brother Glen, and a half sister, Mrs. Laurense Pine, other relatives and host of friends. Out of town relatives attending funeral were: Mrs. Julia Phelps, Mrs. Frank Davisson, Mr. and Mrs. Don Nelson and family of Akron, Colorado; Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Phelps and sons of Guide Rock; Chas Law of Mt. Clare; Mr. and Mrs. Albert Kelso and family of Philipps; and Mr. and Mrs. Henry Kelso of Hastings. Music was furnished by Mrs. Alfred Lofquist and Mrs. Arthur Sime accompanied by Mrs. Harvey Jones. Girls of the class of '31 acted as flower girls and were: Alice Smith, Martha Hibbeler, Loretta Erthum, Velma Hoyt, Betty Jones and Margaret Osgood while the pallbearers were the boys also of the class: Floyd and Lloyd Brown, Burwyn Palmer, Kermit Gunderson, Dale May and Elmer Reiber.
