BAXTER- Clifford R. "Cliff" Baxter, 72, a resident of Albuquerque for 40 years, passed away in a local hospital on Thursday. He is survive by three daughters: Robin Baxter Busick, Anita Baxter Moya, and husband Cass, and Marjorie Baxter Lucas, all of Albuquerque; two sons, Samuel H. Baxter, and wife Marcia, and Clifford "Bob" Baxter, both of Albuquerque; one sister, Ona Baxter of Mesquite, Texas; one brother, Eliga "Harry" Baxter, and wife Ola, of Albuquerque; five grandchildren, Mack Nicholson II, Mary Nicholson, Thursday Moya, Larry Moya, and Rosemary Villafuerte; and 2 great-grandchildren. He was a member of Temple Lodge #6 AF&AM, was a 32nd Degree Mason. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the US Navy. He was Bernalillo County Commissioner and served many years with the Bernalillo County Sherrif's Office. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 10:00am in the Palm Chapel of Strong-Thorne, 1100 Coal SE, with W.W."Tex" Maynard, officiating. transcribed from obit of April 2, 1988
