January, 1995 Record Herald & Indianola Tribune Indianola, IA Roy T. Collins, 78, of Des Moines died of cancer Saturday, Jan. 8, 1994, at home. Services were held Jan. 13 at Southtown Funeral Home, with burial at Norwalk Cemetery. Mr. Collins was born in Van Wert and lived in Des Moines most of his life. He retired as a millwright mechanic for Firestone Tire and Rubber Co, was an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II and had been a member of Cumming American Legion. Survivors include his wife, Virginia; five daughters, Wynona Sue Bruce of LaVista, Neb., and Charleen Cook, Wanda Collins, Colleen McDonald and Earleen Dingeman, all of Des Moines; a stepdaughter, Valerie Terrill of Des Moines; two sons, LeeRoy of Oceanside, Calif., and Ray of Des Moines; two stepsons, Michael Farrell of West Des Moines and Kenneth Farrell of DeSoto; two sisters, Bernice Tharp of Des Moines and Ruby Chapman of Adel; two brothers, Harley of Beaverton, Ore., and Dean of Newport, N.C.; 42 grandchildren; and 43 great-grandchildren
