Daughter of Frank and Annie (Stasny) Slama. Married Frank J. Posvar on January 13, 1902 at David City, Nebr. by a Justice of the Peace. ''''''''''''''''''''' Saturday Night Review (Ulysses, Nebr.), May 25, 1912, p. 1, col. 3 Obituary Died – At her home near Ulysses, Nebr., on Tuesday, May 21, 1912 Mrs. Mary Posvar, aged 31 years. Mary Slama was born near Brainard Nebr., in 1881, and was united in marriage to Frank Posvar in February 1902. From this union two children came to bless the home, Lucile and Stanley. They with their father live to mourn the untimely death of this loved one, as does her aged father and mother, two brothers and two sisters and many more distant relatives. Deceased has a host of true friends and all united in calling her a good, kindly christian woman, which is the highest tribute one can pay a woman. She was a kind considerate mother, being careful in the rearing of her children. Her industry and prudence as a wife are well known wherever the has lived. Mrs. Posvar was baptized by the late Father Murphy. Deceased possessed a peculiarly sweet and amiable disposition, and to know her was to love her. During her illness of three weeks she bore her suffering patiently, and was grateful for the kindness shown by friends and neighbors, she was much pleased when the school children of her little son's class remembered her with beautiful flowers. The bereaved relatives have the sympathy in their hour of sorrow, and may the Good Shepard ever guide and lead them to a higher and better life. The funeral services were held at the Ulysses Catholic church on Thursday morning, May 23, and were conducted by the Rev. Father Loughran, after which the remains were laid to rest in St. Mary's cemetery near town. "Eternal rest grant upon her, O Lord, and Light Perpetual shine upon her." – E.B.L. Card of Thanks For the sympathy and goodness shown us by all neighbors and friends and for the lovely floral offerings, we extend sincere thanks. Frank Posvar and children.
