Houston Chronicle, January 5, 2003: Rosie Hamala, 91, passed away Friday, January 3, 2003 in a Houston hospital. She is survived by daughters, Evelyn Matula and husband, Jerome, of Deer Park, Florence Patek of Katy, Wendy Smith of Clear Lake; son, Dennis Hamala and wife, Eileen of Houston; thirteen grandchildren; and seventeen great-grandchildren. A rosary will be recited Sunday, January 5, 2003, in the Main Chapel of Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home. Funeral Mass, 11:00 A.M. Monday, January 6, 2003, Immaculate Conception Church, Sealy, Tx. Interment, Immaculate Conception Church Cemetery.
