Bio

Alaine Gladys (Lobpries) Myers, 93, of La Grange, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 18, 2012. She was born with her twin, Elaine Gayle in Garwood, Texas on April 6, 1919, daughters of the late "Papa" Ed and "Mama" Annie (Genzer) Lobpries. She married William Clark Myers on February 21, 1939, at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Schulenburg, Texas. Alaine was a fabulous homemaker, seamstress, gardener, and cook. Her life revolved around family and friends. She spent 43 years taking care of children. She is survived by her daughter, Susan Kay Myers of La Grange; sister, Helen Green of El Campo; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband of 66 years, William; two brothers: Fritz Lobpries and Victor Lobpries; and four sister: Lucille Baumgarten, Ella Blackburn, Lydia Laake, and Elaine Steinemann.
