THE HORTON HEADLIGHT-COMMERCIAL THU SEP 16, 1920 PAGE 5 VANDERSLICE – Edward J. Vanderslice was born on December 24, 1900, at Horton, Kans., and died on September 12, 1920, at his home. He was married to Miss Mary Shoup at Topeka on June 18, 1919. The deceased joined the Baptist church a few years ago. Edward was not quite 20 years old and apparently in good health until he became ill a week before his death. Besides his wife and infant son, Earl Arthur Vanderslice, aged 2 months, he is survived by his parents and two sisters. The funeral services were held at his home Tuesday evening at 6 o'clock, conducted by Rev. Wm. Little, of the Baptist church. He was a member of the Carmen and the A. O. U. W. lodges, which turned out in large numbers to attend the funeral. The body was laid to rest in the Horton Cemetery beside his brother, Amos, who died four years ago.
