Married on July 17, 1954.... BELTON — Private services for Bernice Sladecek Johns, 88, of Belton will be held at a later date at Christ the King Catholic Church in Belton. Mrs. Johns died Monday, Dec. 16, at her residence. She was born Jan. 11, 1936, in Jarrell to Ben and Emilie Sladecek. She was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Theodore "Ted" Johns; and a son, Dennis Johns. Survivors include a daughter, Dinah Langlitz, Douglas Johns; seven grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. Dossman Funeral Home of Belton is in charge of arrangements. Bernice Sladecek Johns, 88, of Belton passed away at her residence on Monday, December 16, 2024. Private funeral services will be held on a later date at Christ the King Catholic Church. Dossman Funeral Home is helping with arrangements. Mrs. Johns was born on January 11, 1936, in Jarrell, TX., to parents Ben and Emilie Sladecek. She is preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Theodore "Ted" Johns; one son, Dennis Johns; four brothers Rudy, Daniel, Louis and Jerry Sladecek; one sister, Trudie Kincl. She is survived by a daughter, Dinah Langlitz, of MPR; a son, Douglas Johns and wife Rhonda, of Troy; seven grandchildren, Cory Langlitz and wife Amanda, Shawn Langlitz and wife April, Russell Johns and wife Alexis, Brandon Johns and wife Kayla, Zachary Johns, Adam Johns, and Myra Williamson and husband Derek; and 13 great grandchildren, Caylin, Riley, Finley, Myles, Oliver, Haley, Kyler, Jerzie, Keilee, William, Kash, Dax and Oaklynn. Before retiring Bernice worked beside her husband in many family-owned businesses: Big 3 Auto Supply, Ted Johns & Son's Auto Supply, Big 2 Construction and Ted Johns Builder. Together they loved traveling, bowling, dancing, playing cards and dominoes with family and their many friends. Bernice loved gardening, cooking and canning fresh vegetables from her garden. In her spare time, she enjoyed working in the yard, caring for her many plants, bike riding and evening walks with family. She was an amazing Mother, Grandmother & Great Grandmother "MaMaw" who will be greatly missed. A special thanks to the Embrace Hospice nurse's Tiffany Hunsaker and Evony Vega.
