Obituary of Mary A. Hruby Mary A. Hruby, 86, died Oct. 24, 1974 at the Sacred Heart Hospital in Loup City after a serious illness for the past three months. Mary A. Hruby, the daughter of Josef and Rosalie Hanousek Smolik, was born March 23, 1888, in Valley County. On Feb. 15, 1909 she was united in marriage to John Hruby at Geranium. After marriage they made their home on a farm near Arcadia, until 1954 when they retired from the farm and moved to Ord. Mr. Hruby preceded her in death in 1969. Funeral services were held Monday at 10 am at the Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, with Rev. Stanley Gorak officiating. Interment was in Ord Catholic Cemetery. Survivors include two daughters; Mrs. Agnes Penas of Ord and Mrs. Leona Jones of Grand Island; three sons, Edward of Ord, Joe of Comstock and Leonard of Arcadia; 25 grandchildren; 33 great grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Anna Klanecky, Salem.
