Married Apr 25 1928 Valley Co, NE --------------------------------------------- Emma Benben Emma Benben, 92, of Ord died March 12, 1997 at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney. Funeral services were held March 15, at 2 pm at the Ord Memorial Chapel. The Rev. Tony Woodward officiated. Shirley Karre was the organist and Jeanine Abel was the vocalist. Pallbearers were Leonard Edwards, Bob Edwards, Jim Edwards, Alvin Moudry, Leonard Moudry and Virgil Barnes. Burial was in the Ord City Cemetery. Arrangement were made by Ord Memorial Chapel. Memorials may be given to the North Loup American Legion Auxiliary or to the North Loup-Scotia Rescue Unit. Emma Lillian Benben was born June 14, 1904 in rural Valley county, Nebr., to William and Anna (Hrdy) Lukesh. She was raised on the family farm and attended school in rural Valley County. On April 25, 1928 she married Victor Benben in Valley county, Neb. The couple farmed in the Davis Creek area of Valley county. In 1972, they retired and moved into Ord. Mr. Benben died July 31, 1994. she had lived in the Valley county nursing home in Ord since April of 1994 until her death. She was a member of the North Loup American Legion Auxiliary for over 30 years. She enjoyed raising chickens on the farm and her hobbies included quilting, embroidering and gardening. Survivors include one son, Donald Benben of North Loup; one brother, Benny Lukesh of Grand Island; three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Alice Rashaw; one brother Everett Lukesh and one great-grandson. The Ord Quiz - Thur, Mar 20 1997, Pg 8A, Col 2
