Bio

A funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 12, in the River View Cemetery chapel for Violet Sherar Walden, who died June 7 at age 85. Violet Henry was born July 25, 1919, in Gower, Mo., and moved to Portland in the early 1930s. She was a homemaker. In 1934, she married William Bretz; he died in 1941. Later in the 1940s, she married Joseph Sherar; he died in about 1959. In 1980, she married Edward Walden; he died in 2000. Survivors include her daughters, Laurel Williams and Wilma B. Bretz; sons, William Sherar and Kevin Sherar; 14 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. Arrangements by River View Cemetery Funeral Home.
