from Kansas City Times, Thursday, July 18, 1963 Truck Mishap Fatal George Grant Pettey III, 8-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. George G. Pettey, Jr., died when the pickup truck he was riding in overturned at 5 o'clock yesterday one-quarter of a mile from his home in Cass County about seven miles northwest of Archie, Mo. The boy suffered skull injuries. The family lives on a country road about a mile east of Cass Count route N. The accident happened just west of the home. The truck was driven west by Victor Thomas Ray Nickel, 15, of Arcvhie, the Missouri highway patrol reported. The driver lost control on the gravel road to the right, a trooper said. Also surviving are two sisters, Johnnie Dean Johnson, and Bessie Myrtle Pettey, both of the home. Services will be held at 10 o'clock Friday at the Runyan chapel, Drexel, in Cass County; burial in Forest Hill cemetery. article #2 PETTEY--GEORGE GRANT III, of Route 1, Archie, Mo., age 8, passed away July 17th.
