Bio
Z. J. Zina Jones married Alice Mills on 26 January 1881 in Bastrop County, Texas, Volume C, Page 420. There were nine known children born to this marriage. The 1900 Justice Precinct 8, Lee, Texas census enumerated 12 June 1900 lists household members: Zina Jones, age 47; Alice Jones age 35; Joseph Jones age 18; Elias Jones age 17; Ottie Jones age 12; Tom Jones age 09; Otho Jones age 03; Zina Jones 02. Two children had died by the date of the 1900 census. Zina and three of his children: Inf Dau of Z. J. & Alice Jones died before 1900; Inf Dau headstone no dates unmarked; died before 1900; Elias Jones "Tinker" (4/20/1883 7/6/1904); are buried in Knobbs Springs Cemetery. Zina's wife Alice and sons, Joe Jackson, Warren Otho, Ottie J, Tom Henry, Zina Carl, and Barney Lee, are buried in Oak Hill Cemetery and McDade Cemetery, Bastrop Co. Elias Jones sold 180 acres located on the West side of the Colorado River waters, of Sandy Creek, part of J. L. Standifer headwright 1/3 league to to Zina Jones on November 1888. Signed E. J. Jones, Bastrop County Texas Deeds, Volume 16, Page 129 - 130. It is thought by researchers, but not proven, that Zina Jones is the child of Elias Jones, due to locations, and Zina named one of his boys Elias.
