'''''''''''' Butler County Press (David City, Nebr.), November 17, 1938, p. 1, col. 2 DEATH OF MRS. SHRAMEK The Funeral Services Were Held Monday Morning Funeral services for Mrs. Joseph J. Shramek were held from St. Mary's Catholic church, David City, at 9:39 o'clock Monday morning with Rev. Father William A. Murphy officiating. Music was by St. Mary's church choir and interment was in the David City Catholic cemetery. The pallbearers were Judge E. A. Coufal, Dr. W. F. Gilmore, J. F. Bastar, A. E. Etting, John Schmidt, and W. F. Delaney. Mrs. Shramek was born Anna Kasparek, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Rudolph Kasparek, in Saunders county, near Wahoo, on September 20, 1877, and passed away at her home in David City at 6 o'clock Saturday morning, Nov. 12, at the age of 61 years, one month and 22 days. Death was due to heart trouble following an illness of five weeks. Mrs. Shramek came to David City with her parents in infancy, where she had since resided. Mr. and Mrs. Shramek were united in marriage November 24, 1897, in Kansas City, Mo. To them five children were born, three daughters, Mrs. Fred Ficke of David City, Mrs. Frank C. Charvat of Long Beach, Calif., and Mrs. Andrew J. Adams of Fort Bennington, Ga., and two sons, Joseph Shramek, Jr., and Thomas Shramek, both residing in David City, who, together with their father, survive. Mrs. Shramek is also survived by one brother, Ed Kasparek of David City, two sisters, Mrs. Mollie Knadle of Oklahoma City, Okla., and Mrs. Mary Nemecek of San Diego, Calif., also six grandchildren and many close friends. Mrs. Shramek was a devout Catholic and a member of St. Mary's church. She was a kind and loving mother, devoted to her husband and children. All of the immediate relatives with exception of Mrs. Mary Nemecek, a sister, of San Diego, Calif., were present at the funeral services.
