Bio

Mrs. Mary Holub passed away at her home in Omaha, Wednesday evening, Dec. 19, 1934 after an illness of four months. At the time of her death she was 47 years, 10 months and 3 days old. Miss Mary Cernik was born Febr. 22, 1887. In Nov, 1906 she was united in marriage to Frank Holub at Omaha, which has been her home until death claimed her. To this union were born two worthy children, both surviving their mother. Having been born in Valley county she grew to young womanhood in this vicinity where she is leaving many friends to mourn her going. She was a very active and influential member of the Omaha Bethlehem Presbyterian church where she has served faithfully and diligently for many years. She leaves behind her the memory of a beautiful Christian life that will long be remembered by all who knew her. All the details of the funeral were arranged by Mrs. Holub herself before she passed away and were carried out according to her wish. She leave to mourn her death, her husband Frank Holub, one son, the Rev. Edward Holub and a daughter, Miss Alice, a registered nurse, all of Omaha; five sisters, Mrs. Louise Rawdin of Omaha, Mrs. Anna Kasper of Arnold, Nebr., Mrs. Emma Smolik of Ord, and Mrs. Minnie Vanek and Mrs. Camilla Hruby of Comstock; also three brothers, Frank and Jerry Cernik of Sargent and Joseph Cernik of Ord. Mrs. Joe Elsik and son Otto of Ord and Mrs. Mary Cerny of Burwell, also attended the funeral which was hold Dec. 22 at Omaha from the Wheeler Memorial church which was filled to capacity by friends who came to pay their last respects to the memory of one whom they trusted and loved. The Rev. C. J. Koukal and Rev. Carl E. Kearns had charge of the services that left lasting impressions in the minds of all those present. Interment was made in the Bohemian National Cemetery.
