The remains of Mrs. James H. Edson, who died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. W. E/F Moore in Chicago Thursday afternoon, arrived here yesterday afternoon at 4 o'clock on the Santa Fe, and were immediately taken to the Baptist church, were services were held, after which the interment was made at Riverwood cemetery. Mrs. Edson's death was due to apoplexy, a stroke of which she experienced nineteen days ago, about a week after she left Streator to visit Mrs. Moore. The deceased was 63 years of age, and had been a resident of Streator about thirty years. Her husband, who served in the war of the rebellion as a member of Co. C, 48th Illinois Infantry died in this city two years ago. At the funeral yesterday members of the Streator Post, No. 68, G. A. R., acted as pallbearers. The surviving children besides Mrs. Moore are Mrs. J. D. Overton and Mrs. John W. Cowley, of this city, and Mrs. L. A. Short, of La Salle. -Daily Free Press (Streator, IL) 06 Jul 1900, Sat, page 3-
