Bio
Joe Murphy, 74, native of Dickson County, died yesterday morning in a local hospital after an illness of three years. Mr. Murphy came here about six years ago to reside with members of his family. Funeral services will be held tomorrow morning o at 10 o'clock at the Robertson and Selly Funeral Home by the Rev Tom Campbell. Burial will be in Hunters Cemetery at Dickson. He is survived by son Arthur Murphy of Nashville; four daughters: Mrs. H. E. Shearon of Chapmansboro, TN, Mrs. Robert Staton of WA, Mrs. Dorothy Mathis of Maud, TX, and Dorris Carter of Dallas, TX; and 12 grandchildren. The Tennessean 17 Feb 1946 ---
