Suggested edit: Obituary: The Colfax County Press and the Clarkson Herald Consolidated (Clarkson, Nebraska) 01 Apr 1948, Thu Page 1 Pioneer Of Clarkson Community Gone To Her Reward Death of Mrs. Frantiska Sindelar Occurred Friday at Her Home in Clarkson Funeral services were conducted in Clarkson Monday forenoon for Mrs. Frantiska Sindelar, esteemed resident of this city, who died at her home here Friday at the golden age of 89 years, 6 months and 1 day. Her death is attributed to infirmities attendant to old age. She was the widow of the late Frank Sindelar, Sr., who preceded her in death in 1931. Services were conducted at the opera house by Rev. B.A. Filipi in the presence of a large gathering of relatives and friends. Burial was made in the Clarkson cemetery under the direction of F.J. Miller & Son. Mrs. Sindelar, whose maiden name was Frantiska Bouzek, was born in Moravia, Sept. 25, 1858. While a small child five years old, Mrs. Sindelar came with her parents from the old country to America. They established in Butler county, where she lived for some time. In 1880, while living in Butler county, she was united in marriage to Frank Sindelar. Following their marriage they took out a homestead in Midland precinct, Colfax county, now occupied by their grandson, Jos. V. Sindelar. About thirty-five years ago, they left the farm and moved to Clarkson to enjoy the remaining years of their life in ease and comfort. Mr. Sindelar passed away in 1931 and Mrs. Sindelar continued to make her home here. During the past year and a half she had received the tender care of Mr. and Mrs. Lumir Nadrchal, with whom she had shared her home. During her illness she was also looked after by Mrs. Marie Sedlacek and Mr. and Mrs. Joseph F. Sindelar, who frequently called at her bedside and were of assistance to her. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Alois Cada of Clarkson and Mrs. James Bartak of Norfolk; and two sons, Joseph F. Sindelar living southeast of Clarkson, and Jerry Sindelar of Howells. Mrs. Sindelar, besides her husband was preceded in death by two daughters, an infant daughter and Mrs. Anna Bartak, and one son, Frank J. Sindelar. Mrs. Bartak died in 1946 and her brother, Frank, passed away in 1941. She also leaves a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Contributor: S. Wardell (47551395)
