Matilda Rose Sefcik, 100, of Seaton, died Sunday, September 9, 2012, in a Temple Hospital. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m., Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2012, at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home with Rev. Tom Popelka Jr. and Rev. Denise Mikeska officiating. Burial will be in Seaton Cemetery. Matilda Rose was born in Seaton, Texas, to the late Paul Sefcik and Albina Motl Sefcik, and attended Seaton School. She married Joe L. Sefcik on October 12, 1937. Matilda lived in Seaton all of her life and was a farmer and a homemaker. She was a member of The Evangelical Brethren Church, SPJST Lodge 47, Women's Fellowship Circle of the church and Seaton RVOS #5. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe, on Feb. 24, 2009; son, James Donald Sefcik , in 1957. Survivors include her daughter, Nancy Chlapek and her husband, Ace, of Seaton; grandchildren, Timothy Chlapek, of Arlington, and Paul Chlapek and his wife, Jennifer, of Tyler; and great-grandchildren, Taylor Manziel, Josef Chlapek and Nicolas Chlapek.
