Sealy News February 29, 2008 MARY KUTRA Our loved one, Mary Kutra, 97, went home to be with her Lord Feb. 20 [2008]. She lived her life helping others. Funeral services were held Feb. 25 [2008] from Immaculate Conception Catholic in Sealy, with Rev. Eric J. Pitre celebrating the funeral mass and rite of committal. Burial was in the Sealy Catholic Cemetery. She was born Nov. 18, 1910, the daughter of Frank and Frances Machala and she married Joe Kutra. They made their home in Sealy and were in the construction business. She was preceded in death by her parents; twin brother, Joe; brothers, Louie and Frank; and sisters, Annie Ross, Adele Lezak and Bertha Pustajovsky. She is survived by her daughter, Bernadette Hadash and son Wilbert kutra and wife Dottie, all from Sealy. She is also survived by her brother, Jerry and wife Laverne of Pasadena; grandchildren, Randy Davenport of Sealy, Tanya Wilkes and husband Brian of Angleton, and Kenny and Magen Kutra of Sealy; 10 great grandchildren, Harley, Kara, Brayden, Christopher, Ryan, Jessica, Tanner, Reese, Adisyn and Jayden; two great great grandchildren, Harley Jr. and Colton; and sister-in-law Vivian Machala of Sealy, Pallbearers were Randy Davenport, Ryan Davenport, Kenny Kutra, Joe Novosad, Jim Hadash and Brian Wilkes. The honorary pallbearer was Christopher Davenport. Mary Kutra was the best caregiver you could find. She would go out of her way to help anyone. You didn't have to ask her for help - she just knew when help was needed. She loved music and could sit down at the piano and play just about anything you asked withou any music, just picking out the keys. She was strong in her faith, humming church songs as she did her housework. She set a great example. Funeral services were under the direction of Knesek Brothers Funeral Chapel.
