Brainard Clipper (Brainard, Nebr.), June 25, 1925, p. 4, col. 4 BRUNO ITEMS The funeral of Edward Roubal, 20-yr. old son of Mr. and Mrs. Martin Roubal took place from St. Anthony's church on Thursday at ten o'clock, Rev. Father Bauer conducting the services. Interment was in the Bruno Catholic cemetery. The six pall bearers, young men friends of the deceased, were each accompanied by a young lady dressed in white, who carried the flowers. Two little girls, dressed in white, walked ahead carrying large wreaths. Sedlak's band from Brainard played the funeral march and several other selections. Edward Roubal died in the Nicholas Senn hospital at Omaha, of heart trouble after a long illness. He is survived by his father and mother, four brothers and two sisters, to whom the sincere sympathy of the community is extended. __ p. 5, col. 4 CARD OF THANKS We hereby wish to thank all good friends and neighbors for any assistance and consolation given us at the time of death and burial of our beloved son and brother. Brainard, June 23 – Edward Roubal, son of Mr. and Mrs. Martin Roubal, living about five miles northwest of Brainard, passed away on Tuesday morning, June 16, at the Nicholas Senn hospital in Omaha, where he had been for several weeks. He had suffered from heart trouble for over a year. He was born on his father's farm on October 27, 1905, and lived there all his life with exception of one year when he lived with his parents in Brainard and one year in Bruno. He attended school in District No. 48. He is survived by his parents, four brothers and two sisters. Funeral services were held on Thursday morning, June 18, at 10:00 o'clock in St. Anthony's church in Bruno. The pallbearers were John Polivka, Edward Kucera, Emil Kliment, Louis Pelan, Emil Navratil and James Navratil, and the honorary pallbearers were Helen Navratil, Mary Kucera, Clemmie Roubal, Klodie Nozicka, Julie Komenda and Amelia Placek. The two small pallbearers were Dorothy Navratil and Mary Rech. There was large attendance at the funeral. Burial was in the Catholic cemetery at Bruno.
