Bio

Frederick Burtz came to this country some time during the last half of the 18th century and settled first in Newberry District(County) in a section in Newberry and Lexington counties known as the "Dutch Fork". Frederick Burtz born about 1750 in Germany came to this country as a Hessian Soldier. Like many Hessian Troop, he liked the country and settled here after the Revolutionary War, living in South Carolina.
