Bio

Betty Jean Jennings, 71, of Georgetown passed away Thursday, June 30, 2005, in Austin. She was born June 30, 1934, to Andrew A. and Lota C. Bates Cravatt, the youngest of their ten children. On February 4, 1950, Betty Jean married Sampson “Sammy” Marvin Jennings, who preceded her in death on October 18, 2002. She was employed by Wilson Western Wear in Corpus Christi for a number of years where she blocked and styled hats. She was a member of Onion Creek Baptist Church. She loved to fish and could usually out fish anyone. Surviving are her children, Don Marvin Jennings and his fiancée Debbie Briner, Deborah Cliburn and her husband Bob, and Linda Jennings Albrecht and her lifetime friend Vickie; grandchildren, Seth and Amanda Jennings, Tamy Bopp, Tiffoney Stone, Tonnya Troyer; Gene Dahman, and Bret Albrecht; 14 great-grandchildren; her sister, Lucille Ottinger; and brother, James Jennings. Visitation was held Saturday July 2, 2005, from 6 until 8 p.m. at The Gabriels Funeral Chapel in Georgetown. Funeral services were held Sunday, July 3, 2005, at the funeral chapel with Pastor Kenneth Hickman of Union Hall Baptist Church in Liberty Hill officiating. Burial followed at Berrys Creek Cemetery in Georgetown.
