Rosary Knott Funeral Home, David City, 8 PM Tues. _____ col. 6 Jelinek Rites Wednesday Bruno, Neb. – Funeral services for Mrs. Nellie Mahony Jelinek, former newspaper correspondent for 47 years and widow of a pioneer physician, will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in St. Anthony’s Church here. Mrs. Jelinek, 91, died Monday in a nursing home at 4809 Redman Avenue, where she lived the past 10 years since moving to Omaha from Bruno. Mrs. Jelinek was a correspondent for The World-Herald, newspapers in David City, Wahoo and other communities. Her husband, Dr. J. A. Jelinek, served as Bruno’s physician for 55 years until his death in 1957. Mrs. Jelinek was the daughter of pioneer Bruno banker M. W. Mahony. A son, Stephen J., was on The World-Herald night copy desk and another son John G., was a school principal in Omaha. Both are deceased. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. John B. Otte and Helen Jelinek, both of Omaha; a son, George S. Vancouver, Wash.; a sister and a brother; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. A rosary will be said at 8 p.m. tonight in Knott Funeral Home at David City. Burial will be in Bruno.
