Peggy Jo Sweat 77 years of age of Cooper passed away Wednesday, September 19, 2012 in Tyler. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, September 22, 2012 at the Delta Funeral Home Chapel with Caleb Wright officiating. Interment will follow in the New Klondike Cemetery. Peggy was born in Klondike on September 14, 1935. She was the daughter of Oscar Tidwell and Ethel (Hart) Tidwell. She was a lifelong resident of Delta County. She married Charles Sweat on November 22, 1935 and he preceded her in death March 13, 1992. She later married Bobby Phipps. Survivors include her husband, Bobby Phillips of Cooper, three sons; Roger Sweat and wife Jodie of Prosper, Randy Sweat and wife Tina of Brookston, and Jimmy Sweat and wife Lucy of Klondike, two daughters; Janice Williams and husband Mickey of Klondike, and Julie Sweat Vandergriff and her husband Jerry of Commerce, step children; Robyne Kay Phipps, Melissa Jan White, and Dale Phipps all of Indiana and a daughter in law Carrie Phipps. She was survivled by four sisters; Marie Waldo of California, Louise Phillips of Edgewood, Nelda King of Commerce, and Loula Shaklee of Longview, 21 grandchildren and 23 great grand children. The family will receive friends Saturday, September 22 from Noon until service time.
