From Benson County Farmers Press: The funeral for Mabel Iverson, 90, of Maddock was held Sat., July 14 at the Klara Lutheran Church south of Maddock. Interment was in the church cemetery. She died July 11, 1990 at the Lutheran Home of the Good Shepherd in New Rockford. Rev. Dale Seffrood officiated. Pallbearers were Ansel Hakanson, Dean Hakanson, Raymond Larson, Leo Larson, Lorace Hakanson, Vern Peterson, Keith Hakanson & Galen Hakanson. The Nelson Funeral Home of Maddock was in charge of arrangements. Mabel Iverson was born Aug. 23, 1899, the daughter of Olof & Sara Anderson Hakanson. She was raised & attended school near Maddock. She spent her early years caring for an invalid brother. She also worked as a cook for a threshing crew, working out of cook cars. She married T.O. Iverson Nov. 10, 1930 near Maddock. They lived at Hesper & then moved to Heimdal where he managed the elevator. He died in 1976 & she moved to the Maddock Memorial Home. The past 14 months she lived at the Lutheran Home of the Good Shepherd in New Rockford. She was treasurer of the Hesper School. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 8 brothers & 3 sisters.
