William "Bill" Edward O'Neal, 97, of Texarkana, Ark., died Friday, Aug. 20, 2010. Mr. O'Neal was born Aug. 5, 1913, in Kirlin, Ark. He was retired from Texas and Pacific Railroad, a Scottish Rite 32nd Degree Mason, held a Demolay Legion of Honor and was a member of Edwards Masonic Lodge 593, Arkansas Order of Amaranth, Order of the Eastern Star 78, Good Sams Club and Cornerstone Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Julia O'Neal; and one granddaughter, Deborah King. Survivors include his wife, Ethel O'Neal of Texarkana; one son and daughter-in-law, Charles and Wanda Sangalli of Texarkana; two daughters and sons-in-law, Betty and Joe Culling of Trenton, Texas, and Sharon and Rudy Martinez of Joplin, Mo.; one brother, Patrick O'Neal of Fayetteville, Ark.; nine grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives. Services will be 10 a.m. today at East Funeral Home, Downtown, with Norm Melton and Marcus Larey officiating. Burial will be in East Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to Cornerstone Baptist Church.
