Frances was born, Feb. 3, 1941 in Lenz, Texas, the daughter of Edmund Retzloff and Amanda Magel Retzloff. She was very active in her community and served as President and was a Lifetime Member of the South Texas V.F.W. Auxiliary and the American Legion. Frances was a member of the Faith Lutheran Church in Beeville. Survivors include her step-son, Thomas Berger and wife Janice of Pipe Creek, Texas; her nieces, Karen Walston and husband Dennis and Lori Buegeler and husband Gilberto Quillon; and her nephew, Michael Buegeler. Preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ray Berger and her sister, Dolores Syring. Visitation was held Sunday, Aug. 12, 2012 from 5 – 7 p.m., at the Eckols Funeral Home Chapel, Kenedy. Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, Aug. 13, 2012, in the Eckols Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Gary Conklin, officiating. Interment followed in the Kenedy Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the American Cancer Society; PO Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK 73123.
