Albina Bessie Stacha Rader November 28, 1926 - March 5, 2017 Our beloved mother, Albina Bessie Stacha Rader, age 90, quietly and peacefully went home Sunday, March 5, 2017 at 8:14 pm. Preceding her in death were her husband Dan Eli Rader, parents Vince and Fannie (Vitek) Stacha, brothers Clifton Stacha, Jerry Stacha, and William Stacha and wife Sadie, nephew Don Rader and wife Rita, and niece Birdie Ruth Rader. She leaves behind her children Edmund and Cheryl, grand-dogs Bailey and Scarlett, sisters-in-law Doris Kalina and Dorothy Markert, nieces Ruthell Ralls and husband Durvis, Ann Livingson and husband Wes, Brenda Ivy and husband Randy, and Jolene Mehok and husband Gregg, nephews Martin Rader, and Clifton Stacha, Jr. and wife Carolyn along with numerous great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and friends including, but not limited to, her neighbors, her church families at Kinney Avenue Christian Fellowship and Trinity Church of Austin, her WellMed Senior Community Center family, her Woodmen Life family, and her Poets Walk Memory Care Community family where she resided at the time of her passing. Albina lived a good example of God's teaching of "malice toward none" as she did not criticize people or want anything from them but a return of the compassion and kindness she showed them. Albina Stacha was born in Taylor, Texas on November 28, 1926. After WWII she moved to Austin, Texas. While employed as a live-in domestic help for Edmund Cravens and his wife Norma, she met the love of her life, Dan Rader, as he made a delivery at their home. They were married on July 10, 1949. The Cravens loved Albina and treated her like a daughter for the rest of their lives. She was deeply touched by their kindness to her and named her son after Mr. Cravens in honor of him. Albina was a stay-at-home mom who taught her children Christian character, including a good work ethic. When her children started school, she got a job with the Austin Independent School District as a cafeteria worker so she could be at home with them when they got home from school. For most of her career she was at the same schools her children were at. After retiring from the AISD she worked in childcare, both privately and at South First Baptist Christian Daycare Center. Edmund and Cheryl are grateful for the services of several respite groups that helped them care for Albina after she was diagnosed with Alzheimer's Disease: The Gathering at Westlake Hills Presbyterian including the support group there, Sanctuary at Faith United Methodist, Pat's Bunch at Manchaca Baptist, and Senior Retreat at the Townlake YMCA. While at these groups, previously unknown and untapped talents of Albina's were discovered, especially in the area of arts and crafts. One of the paintings she did at The Gathering was chosen to be in an art exhibit at Bass Concert Hall at The University of Texas. The family would also like to thank the following communities who cared for Albina after she needed more care than could be provided at home: Parsons House, Hampton House, and Legacy Oaks before coming to Poets Walk in September, 2016. Special thanks go to Titiana Gula who first made contact with us about Poets Walk and shared the vision of it with us and to Chad Boeddeker for his kind and patient, yet persevering, persistence with us to place her in this unique community. We are grateful to Director Amber Turner, all her staff and all the residents and their families at Poets Walk for the love and care they gave Albina during the last five months. Our special thanks go to Marjorie, her roommate, for her lovingkindess to Albina. A Memorial Service to celebrate Albina's life and to honor her legacy of faith in and faithfulness to God will be held on Sunday, March 19 at 3:00 pm in the red dining room at Poets Walk Memory Care Community, 4050 Sunrise Rd, Round Rock, Texas. Pastors Ken Baldwin and Sid Hall will be officiating. Lisa Clark, who presented Albina's SwanSong concert, will be our honored musician. A reception will follow the service at the same location.
