ROLENC. Funeral Services Were Held Saturday Morning, Feb. 17. Abie, Feb. 19 - Mrs. Joseph V. Rolenc, of Abie, passed away at the David City hospital Thursday, Feb. 15, death resulting from a ruptured appendix. Funeral services for Mrs. Rolenc were held from the family home to Sts. Peter's and Paul's Catholic church Saturday morning, Feb. 17, with Rev. Father Kasny in charge. The church choir, with Miss Antonette Husak at the organ, sang Requiem Mass, "Jesus, Savior of My Soul" and "Nearer My God to Thee." The pallbearers were Emil Pavel, Sr., Emil Pavel, Jr., Joseph Pavel, Joseph Rolenc, Jr., Emil Rolenc and Joseph Rolenc of Brainard. Interment was in Abie Catholic cemetery. Mrs. Rolenc was born Mary Pavel and was 56 years of age at time of death. She was married to Joseph V. Rolenc in 1899. To this union six children were born, four daughters, Agnes (Mrs. Adolph Rezac), Frances, Rose and Albina, and two sons, Emil and Joseph, all of Abie, and who with their father survive Mrs. Rolenc as do three grandchildren, Richard, Laddie and Martha Rolenc. Mrs. Rolenc was a devoted wife and mother and a devout member of the Catholic church. She leaves a wide circle of warm friends to regret her passing.
